Bart-Williams was a pretty decent player himself, not on the same sphere as Francis but very skillfull and entertaining to watch at times.

Didn't realise he played for England up to 1986. Wasn't picked for the WC. Wonder if he'd played in that Argentina game?
He's goal ratio for England was pretty shit though.

Bice little tribute from the Blue Noses.... thought he played his best stuff at the Brummies... although he hit the heights obviously under Cloughie I'm not sure he ever played as well as he did before... still a hell of a player and came across as a top bloke. RIP

My memories of him was as a kid watching Forest in europe on Sportsnight and then seeing him in the flesh in an England shirt. He always came over as a down to earth decent kind of guy apart from messing up over babygate. His boy also nearly got stitched up by Lee Hendrie & the CPS a good few years back.

69 nowadays is not that old. Was a quick very skilful player and at the time of his famed 1 million transfer he was at the top of his game. I think his transfer almost doubled the highest amount that had previously been paid?
He did come across as a decent bloke and obviously got Sullivan and Brady sussed out before a lot of others.
He was a slim bloke who kept himself fit or at least looked like he did but who knows what he got. As mentioned some people’s time comes before others. Just the way it is so ”Carpe Diem” and all that.
RIP

Manuel wrote...
Re: Trevor Francis He always sounded like he had a cold.
West Ham sent a scout to watch him when he was a junior, along with all the major clubs. Francis turned up with flu but when he saw all the scouts he insisted on playing, he had a shit game and everyone left thinking he was wildly over rated .
